Default what to expect offroad?

What can I expect out of a 36V cart offroad in the mud if I have no lift and some knobbys on the back in stock size? With a lift? I'm not planning on going through deep mud with it. I just want to be able to go down a slick road. I figure a golf cart with some decent knobby tires and a lift should be almost as good as a "bad boy" in 2wd. Is this true or can I just expect not to make it to the back 40 when it rains a little? I would like a quiet hunting cart without spending $8000. Thanks for any comments.

when i got my cart a while back it had the stock suspension in
the front with 18'' x8x8golf tires in and 22 x 11 x8 sahara kings in the back (aka: knobby)with a 2'' block lift the guy had put on it worked surprisingly good in the wet stuff.

I guess the only thing that concerns me is that our soil contains alot of clay and gets extremely slick. I wonder if I could weld the rear diff together and make it a positive traction rear end?

I had a little Melex cart (Ezgo copy) which could really get around in the mud dispite its being old and heavy. I had put some stock size tractor lugs on it and 2 extra batteries for 48v. It was enough to get in and out of more places than I was ready to go and we have clay too .......36v? That will be the limiting factor

sweet. I think I may just go for it. I sounds like the conversion isn't all that hard.

yeah according to one guy the bump from 36v-48v to run your 36v motor is supposed to be the bomb! that is what i am wanting to find out so if you do it keep us posted.
