Recovering Seats
I am thinking about recovering the seats (front and back) on my 2002 EZGO. I am trying to decide on buying black vinyl fabric or black cordura and saving some money by doing them myself. If anyone has done this and can post some pictures and any ideas or sugestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Recovering Seats
Go on Youtube and search for reupholstering. I found a video on it and followed the tips and tricks when I did mine.

Re: Recovering Seats
Unless the kids are grown and gone, and the cart is parked inside when not in use, use marine vinyl Otherwise your nice upholstery will bear the stains from ice cream to bird crap

Re: Recovering Seats
I bought my seats at www.par5customs.com and they were rather easy to install. Took me a couple of hours to get all 4 pieces done.

Re: Recovering Seats
Hey Chasenfish16, i used marine vinyl from a local fabric mart. only 7.95 a yard. I used 1/2 yard to cover the two back rests. i have another yard for the main seat but haven't covered it yet as it is still good. I will try to post a pic tonight.

Re: Recovering Seats
The seat on my cart was torn and the wood was rotten. After reading Cheesy's thread it was an easy project. I bought some marine grade vinyl off of ebay for $7, about 200 staples, 1/2 plywod (I had laying around), and some fusion paint (best paint for plastics).
I first traced the old bottom to the plywood, cut with jigsaw and holesawed some holes for air to excape. I used the old foam and did just what Cheesy did (thanks man). I repainted the hip restraints with krylon fusion. My corners didn't come out as nice as his but for the price and the finish product I'm satisfied. |
