my new club car
Well guys I sold my G1 and bought a Max cart. Realized that was a big mistake so I sold it and bought a 97 Club car for my second build. Just installed a 6 inch Allsport spindle lift and some 22x11x10 wheels and tires. Started fabricating a roll bar(upper brush guard) and decided to take it for a test run. It sucked, I know it aint no drag car but thats not the part that bothers me it has no power what so ever. I know its probably in here some where on what the problem is but I have been reading for a while and could not get any where. Its a 36v system and batteries are 08 what could i do to make it better? I just use it at the campground and there is several dirt hills to go over to get to the beach. Is there a better more powerful motor I could buy without converting it to 48v dont have that much cash to drop right now? Thanks very much for any advice in advance

Sorry my friend,if it a 36 volt resistor cart then you are doomed,they are gutless and you will need to go to 48 volt to get results.They are fine stock but thats about it.It is a neat lookin cart though.

Great thats just my freakin luck, Thanks for the compliment though. I love the way its lookin. I just orderd push bar, rear bumper, dash kit and some other things. What do you guys recomend whats a good company or brand of kit?

Now get all down,it will still work with a lift kit just dont put a backseat on it and dont pull boats out of the water ok. Just see how it works out and let us know.

It is a resister cart, is there any way to get a speed controll and get rid of the resistor. So iI could keep the batteries and motor?

Just saw an 87 resistor CC for $875, way to steep right? Sorry for the hijack!
BTW it had new batts, and was in good shape. |

I had the same problem with my '98 36 volt CC. No speed. I was always the last one to get any where. A friend suggested the following company. My cart went from about 12 mph to 17 to 19 mph. I sent them my motor and they modified it for $250.00 plus freight. I am very satisfied with the results. Give them a call.

You just got to remember its a 36 volt resistor car and its limited on its capaabilities,his car might not have a lift kit. Just be careful what you buy.
