project gone bad
project gone bad, bought this cart christmas weekend, bought a bunch of new parts basically everything electrical, also fuel pump yesterday I was putting the new pump on and still using my gas bottle hanging from pass seat back, when I knocked the line loose and spilled gas all over the motor and generator waited a few minutes figured it was dry while I was finishing hooking up the lines, hit the pedal and poof or more like swoosh (not sure) but it went up in flames like I had thrown a match on a grill full of lighter fluid, course you should know that this is my first cart, and my excitement has been through the roof, I'll include a pic if it works. but I did learn a valuable lesson about golf carts. oh well looking forward to the next one.

Re: project gone bad
Sorry to read your story, these things happens so easily. Is it damaged beyond repair? There are a lot of parts out there for the early 80's carts. For example if the coil and igniter are toast (forgive the pun) you don't have to spend $150 ish on EZGO parts, you can do the HEI mod for around $50.
All the best Dave |

Re: project gone bad
I think everything is probably salvageable just not in the mood to mess with it right now, its for sale, there is a 1992 near me for 800 that runs and drives, I might just go buy that one to build if the 86 doesn't sell I will see about it later, I have a couple 4 stroke atv engines laying around maybe i'll do a swap.

Love the picture. Nothing like roasting marshmallows over an EZ SLOW. but really sorry for the lose I would not give up to soon. There are all kinds of parts out there to salvage and fix that thing to top shape. Let us know when you got it up and running and we will send a Yamaha to pull you out of any tuff spots Good luck....
