keep burning F/R switch???
I have a stock series cart with no upgrades. I have replaced the F/R switch 3 times with "heavy duty" switches and they still burn. I run my cart on hilly grass terrain.....like a golf course. I measured my amperage draw : from dead stop on hill amps jump to 190 and then drop to 170 as cart goes up the hill.
all suggestions appreciated |

Re: keep burning F/R switch???
Yeh, so called 'heavy duty' switches sold are not so HD. We offer a true HD switch for Ezgo Series carts that has 60% greater amperage handling and cooling capacities.... however, the SW182 reversing contactor conversion kit here > http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Reversing_Contactors.html is one of the best options.

Re: keep burning F/R switch???
I agree. I buy these reversing contactors from Scottyb for all my series cart builds.

Re: keep burning F/R switch???
Yup. I second...or maybe it's a 3rd, but I put a Super Duty on my 48V hunting cart over a year ago and all of my F\R switch issues just plain disappeared. Well worth the investment.

Re: keep burning F/R switch???
I pull a trailer everyday that weighs 700-900 pounds, since converting to the reverse contactor set up I haven't had any more problems. It'll pay for it self in no time.

Re: keep burning F/R switch???
Anyone who has used the SW182 knows its Huge, compared to the average Curtis/albright solenoid commonly seen in some golf cars.

Re: keep burning F/R switch???
Yep, the 202 is a big boy, the 202 does not use 5/16" terminals. Thats whats on the big toys. Its hard to fit in "golf carts". Maybe i got the numbers wrong, but the difference in size is a shocker when you see it (& try to twist the cables to fit).

Re: keep burning F/R switch???
I got one of Scotty's switches a few months ago. have been using the cart quite a bit through the summer pulling a yard cart up and down moderate hills without a problem. Thanks to all for the advise and thanks to Scotty for a good product.

Re: keep burning F/R switch???
Thanks for the props. We were using a Sw182 HD switch in our weed spray cart but recently upgraded the cart to a 500a control and SW202 super duty reversing contactor and yes, this thing is a beast and really handles the high amp draw of low speed spraying nicely.
