getting to 48v
looking at 1st elec cart for hunting. any difference in 4-12v, 6-8v, or 8-6v??

I have 8 6V batteries under the seat. I can drive about 30 miles before the batteries are at 50%(48V resting pack voltage)

The down side to eight 6v is a decreased weight to power ratio. 8/6v weigh about 150 pounds more than 6/8v. That is like carrying a passenger who never gets out of the cart.
The cart will run more efficiently on 48v anyway and so your run time will naturally improve by about 10% no matter what battery you use so I prefer 6/8s because they fit in the rack under the seat and they improve the performance over the heavier packs. I guess it depends upon your needs, I never needed to go 30 miles in a cart. |
