05 DS Stops After Ride
I have a 2005 DS that I recently fixed up with much help from people on this forum (thanks).
But now I have noticed a problem. I put an Alltrax XTC400 with an upgraded solenoid on it and its works good, but if I run it hard for a while or drive quickly up a steep hill the buggy will stop. The only thing that fixes it is to let it sit for a while then itll start again. Is this an overheating issue? Or something else? And is there anything that can be done about it? Re: 05 DS Stops After Ride
Could be a heat issue. Best way to diagnose is to download the Alltrax Toolkit software, install it on a laptop, and either monitor or datalog to a file. This will tell you everything you need to know. Did you get the fan kit with the controller? If not, it would be a wise investment. HTH

Yeah, I got the fan kit. Ill check it with the computer in a day or two and see what it says. What are the parameters I should be looking for?

Re: 05 DS Stops After Ride
There are at least 20 different parameters that are recorded when you log to a file including overheat and overcurrent status as well as fan status. If the controller is what is shutting you down, you should easily be able to tell why. If it is not the controller, the voltage and current data should point you to a battery or motor problem. If you post a file of the data when the problem occurs, myself or some of the resident experts here can help decipher the data. This is the best feature in my opinion of the Alltrax controller, not needing special hardware to program or log controller data.
