Cart Charger
So I recently got a 2004 Club Car DS. It needs new batteries and called a person that a friend recommends for his batteries. He recommended strongly getting a Smart Charger. Just wondered what opinions were on that. I am new to the electric cart world and googled smart charger but not really getting much information.

Re: Cart Charger
A smart charger has a built in "OBC", so to say. It will monitor pack voltage like your cart obc. The difference being smart charger will float charge your batteries to maintain proper voltage level. Cart obc will not do that.Using a smartcharger, you will bypass cart obc.
Most smartchargers have settings for specific battery brands, which can result in more efficient changing and longer battery life. Whenever I need a charger I buy smartchargers. But I don't replace factory chargers with smartchargers. If you already have a factory charger, it will serve your purpose. |
