Have a friend who installed one a few months ago on relatively new batteries. I guess I will wait and see if his batteries last any longer that usual. He does a good job of maintaining his stuff--checks water every two weeks, keeps batteries clean and nuts tight. I, for one, hope it doubles the life or something. Even if they last a year or two longer it would be worth the $100. They do make 12V, 36V, and 48V models so I assume they go across the whole pack.

Thanks to all for the replys. I am not looking for a magic fix to bring old batteries back to life. I just thought that if these helped squeeze a year or two out of decent batteries it would be woth the money. i realize proper maintenance and break-in are very important to these batteries, but at over $100.00 apiece it can't hurt to try and make them last as long as possible.

My situation is this. I have a golf cart at my campground that I use Thursday thru Sunday. Monday thru Thursday night it sits with the batteries at 85% or so. I don't dare leave it hooked to the charger un-watched for 3 to 4 days and so this unit is like a trickle charger -battery minder that I would feel more comfortable leaving plugged in. IF IT WORKS???

The reason I posted this to all of the Electric cart forums is alot of people only visit the forum of their carts maker, so I wanted to share this in case it turns out to be the next big thing in battery technology. I read on Exide page that they are adopting this for their chargers. I don't know if this means anything but it's worth watching.

Yes, this could very possibly be the same thing. Like the article says most charger do not have the equalizing setting so this cannot be carried out. This device from Pulse Tech could very well do this very thing in a seperate package. When I replace my batteries next year i think I am going to try one of these. I figure it can't hurt.
