Re: Rear end noise
I know and old school mechanic, he's around 70 now, he liked to work and rebuild old V8 into diesel engines. He use to make pretty good lathe jobs. I was 13-15 when heard all kind of stories from him, one of them was about rear ends. He told that when somebody needs to sell vehicle with bad differential and to make a rear end to stop whining for worn gears, cheaters used to put BANANAS, yes! bananas! instead of oil (without peal). Fill all the rear end with this. You know, third world solution. Worst thing here is that it will work for 2 to 3 weeks no flaws no noise!.
The old guy told me he worked couple of times on these kinds of rebuilds. The rotten bananas and their moisture turns into a "banana milk" (no joke )(sorry boo) making the thing heat up and made lots of damage inside. Of course when that's happen the cheater seller is living in another state with another ID. So scotty, no banana's neither banana's milk fer now For you DS: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/test-...r-potions.html |

Re: Rear end noise
A little sawdust in a Model A Ford Rear End made it smooth as silk.
