battery equalization question

I'v actually seen my PowerDrive charger go up tp 59 Volts and it may hit 62 If I catch it Just right .

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am getting the impression that the equalization charge is charging the batteries at a higher voltage than normal, in a effort to boil off some of the sulpher and increase the capacity of the batteries.

The Trojan instructions say to do hourly readings of the battery fluid and when it peaks, stop the charge.

I have never heard of this before. Boiling a battery is never-never any good.
It's rear to have a battery pack become unbalance. But it can happen. I have been into battery abuse for 4 years now.{Racing my golf carts} When you discharge a battery as fast as I do, then you learn about the pack becoming unbalance. And when a stock golf cart batt pack comes unbalance. It's because 9 out 10 times all the toys are hooked to one battery causing it to drop voltage faster than the rest of the pack. Just charge the low voltage battery by it's self & with a single charger,

All things in the world being perfect this is generally true !
So in other words don't lay out big bucks for the added whistle and bell,
But if you are having to buy a new one anyway then go for it !
