um i hate to diagree with you but the simple fact that you are boosting voltage to 48 over 36 is more than enouph to make up the power you would get if you went with a 36 volt controoler at 400 amps

and if you read one of my post i said i would not recomend doing this with a stock 48 volt controller
if you had to buy the parts but if you have the stuff laying around like i did it is way better than 36 volts as well as an easy upgrade.
