Re: DS Series 1995-96 Power Failure
Thanks again and for the test procedures scottyb,
Possible sequel ! Batt volts after o/night charge all OK , sample cell SGs much same as before with one or two low. Cart moving OK both ways but with intermittent go pedal. The unit connected to the pedal may be the MCOR throttle position indicator you speak of , I dunno! but looks more like a rheostat with an arm moving a brush type pad over a series of half-inch square pads. All contained in a black plastic box like a quarter of a cake tin. Whatever, the sparky took this apart and cleaned both the movable pad and the fixed contact pads . Power now applies relatively smoothly much as before all the trouble started! Conclusions: Batteries are long in the tooth and need watching closely for possible replacement . Power failure (s) experiencd seem consistent with the MCOR (?) not making smooth contact and eventually no contact . Cleaning fixed that. Whether this made the OBC refuse the charge leading to low batteries?? . A trial later today will tell won't it! Without your help we would not have got there as easily , many thanks. Cheers Pete |

Re: DS Series 1995-96 Power Failure
My bad, Pete. You have a V-glide Throttle position indicator Yes, important the contact is level and smooth between the stationary lugs and the moveable wiper Glad to hear you are up and running! Enjoy the site ..... lots of fun people here

Is that question a hijack! Or is answering it the hijack? I will just say this scottyb: Golf , as everyone knows is a chronic disease affecting a man's entire attitude to life.
