Default Club Car Motor/Controller Suggestion

I recently purchased a 2001 CC DS 48v series. There is nothing wrong with it other than being completely stock. I already have an 04 IQ with low profile tires and a speed motor. I am thinking of lifting this one and going a little more torque over speed. I still want to achieve around 20mph, so I don't want strictly torque.

Any suggestions on motors and or motor/controller combination's?

Anyone Used the EMP 2 speed motor before?

I bought this cart together with another and sold the other one and made a net profit of $400, so I have some play money and a $0 cost basis.

Suggestions anyone?

Go to D&D Motors website and enter your parameters and it will list some motor/controller choices for you.

Hi,
I have installed lots of the 2 speed motors you're talking about! Talk about impressive! It will take your 12 mph cart and in torque mode will go about 18 mph and up to 24mph in speed mode! Battery condition and tire size, etc. will affect speed, somewhat. I would give Chuck or Andrea a call and let them know what you want to accomplish and they will set you up with what you need! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions. By the way, you will spend a lot less doing it this way rather than the D&D way!

Go D&D all the way!!! I have a D&D ES-58 and I love it!!!

I have a 6" Jake's lift and 23" All Trail tires and I hit 23 mph on GPS and have torque to spare. D&D builds awesome motors. Combine with an AllTrax 650 amp controller and away you go.

ES-58. The ES stands for "Engineering Sample". This motor is not listed on their website. Call D&D and talk to Vic DeJohn. He will steer you in the right direction.

Keep the original running thru it and run the 2ga from the same points but just around the obc to the controller.
