Here is an interesting article on battery storage. The math is kind of out there but if you just scroll down to the first chart you can see that Mother Nature is your friend. The colder the battery the slower the discharge rate and at 5 degrees C (41 F) you have an astonishing 18 months before you risk damage. As others have said, charge the cart, disconnect the main positive or negative and you are set for the winter.
