The Chicken or The Egg? (The Charger or the batteries)
'82 CC running original. Has Batteries in it that are 4 years old.
If I unplug the charger (automatic) and plug it back in after 5 minutes, the charger kicks on almost full throttle (intensive charging). Should I look at the batteries not holding a charge? The cart seems to run fine other than bogging down some going up hill. How do you check batteries under load? Should I look at the charger? Thanks for pointing me the right direction |

Re: The Chicken or The Egg? (The Charger or the batteries)
You could connect a DVM to the pack and set the DVM on the seat and see what the voltage is while your driving it. You didn't mention if you have a 36v or 48v.
Also, does the charger drop off after a a minutes or so after you plug it back in? I know that my 48v charger will ramp wide open then back down to where it was when I was trying to complete the charge. I only replug the charger back in once in a great while and that is because I normally have to move the cart. I would not recommend plugging the charger back in after a full charge unless you have driven it some. Not sure that it will hurt anything, just MHO. The experts will probably jump in and give you more help. |

It is a 36v on an automatic charger.
The charger ramps down pretty quickly, after 5 minutes. Total recharge time is 20 minutes or so... |

Or you could be catching fish if you go at the right time.
