Default ezgo total charge capacitors

I have a 90 marathon 36 volt and I got a ezgo total charger with it grenn face white case fiw i cannotnally got it working after new board and some new wiring diodes etc. OK now I got just done watering battery and a gravity test. So I took for a ride everything was good , it starting raining hard so I lifted the seat and let the rain wash off acid , no problem so I parked it and plugged it in sounded good just happened to notice the precharge resistor was smoking so I pulled positive cable and went to bed. Next day after work hooked up positive cable same thing. Cart still works perfect after that , now to find out my charger was leaking fluid so took cover off capacitor has a pin hole in it ,so I suspect that was the cause , now I can not find the correct capacitor for the charger can't find right voltage one . What do you guys think where can I find the right ezgo part number 17077g1 is not right voltage but that's the only one I can find close, I just want it to be right what do you guys think

https://shop.ezgo.com/products/Capac...roduct_id=3130

You might find Part# 28109G01 cheaper elsewhere and you might find a 20.0 MFD Motor Run capacitor with a 370 VAC or higher voltage rating at your local electrical supply.

So the 370 volt cap will work , or I should ask what would work best

The one EZGO sells is 370VAC, if you can find one with a higher voltage rating, it will work also.
The more important part is 20 MFD.

Any cap with same uF and same or higher voltage rating will work if it will fit. I get them from places like Digikey, Newark, Mouser, etc. WAY cheaper than getting from a cart dealer.

Is it polarized? (It would have a + or - on it) If not then no. Motor start caps are not polarized because they see AC. They are used to shift the phase of the AC to generate starting torque on AC motors.

This old thread popped up while I was searching for an answer to this question.

My board was bad in the charger, so I ordered all the common parts, new style board, diodes, fuse and the capacitor.

My question, the new capacitor is not marked + or - but the terminals have black &!white insulators, does it make a difference how it is connected?
The old capacitor has no markings. 1998 TXT with a powerwise 36 volt charger.

I suspect the color coding is for when capacitor connected to AC line power with neutral grounded. In the charger it is connected to a transformer secondary winding with no grounding, so it doesn't matter which wire connects to which terminal.
