Default Micro switch catching making pedal stick

Pedal is binding once in a while .. dangerous unless your quick to act...
Anyways I looked at the cam on the accelerator pedal and it is binding (sometimes) on the little arm piece of the micros witch . I am not sure how the cam and micro switch are supposed to physically work together. The metal arm on my micro switch seems loose and not in the position that I see on pics of other micro switches. Attached are some pics of mine.

Is it broke?

Could this have anything to do with intermittent sluggish problem I'm having?

Thanks for any help!!

First thing... your microswitch is broken, hosed, kaput, failed..etc...

you need a new one....

Its sole purpose is turn on the solenoid supplying the "go" power of your batteries to the controller...

Your pics show obvious water damage inside your "ITS" box.
The plunger going into and out of the pickup coil is basically your throttle input.

Very small differences in inductance is your throttle input to the controller.

All this means,

1. get you a new micro switch.
2. Clean out all that gunk in the ITS box.
3 make sure the spade/female connectors are free from tarnish...
4. follow the wires from the ITS box toward the controller, you will find a plug..
unplug that and make sure it is making good contact when you plug it back
in.

The new micro switch will fix your sticking problem, and the connector cleanup has a pretty good shot at correcting your "sluggish" issue.. if not, let us know

Cool! thank you very very much.

I did notice the spade/ connectors were a bit loose as well.
I will get on the connection but it may take a week or two to get a replacement micro switch. Will continuing to drive the cart like I have do any damage to the controller, batteries etc?

Thanks againTexTurbo.

ps, I noticed two micro switch options for my cart.

Is the roller arm on the micro switch supposed to like the pic when the pedal in disengaged?

Or is the roller arm supposed to be in front of the armature ?

When I installed the new micro switch I realized how the old one broke.. the armature is catching on the roller arm and pushing the whole arm out..

I adjusted the armature so that the roller arm is resting on the wide part of the armature but that keeps the mini switch engaged .. I'm not sure how this us supposed to work? And what I need to do to correct it?

The switch is supposed to be held operated. The switch is a normally closed contact arrangement held open when on the cam. It closes when the pedal is pressed.

That is correct. The roller switch s should be closed when the pedal is up. Actually the switch is open because that it's a normally closed switch. But your pic is correct. What broke the arm was it going back to far, the switch opened then next time you press the pedal it breaks it.
