Default Re: EZGO DCS no activation at the solinoid

I will explain the best I can so be patient with me. Lol
Ok I peeled back the cover on the main harness from up by the Solenoid heading towards the F/R switch plugs. Just before the first plug (Reverse side) I found a broken connection. Following the wires the red wire is taped together with the orange with red stripe wire at the bad connection. I’m gonna butt connect them I just need to know which wire goes to what? Out of the plug I have 2 orange w red stripes but the other 2 wires are one is red and the other is orange with the red stripe. Does it matter which orange/white wire red goes to? The other connection will be orange w stripe to orange w stripe. Hope this kinda makes sense. Lol

Sounds like a previous owner has been messing around inside the wiring harness, so I would trust the color coding of any of the wires in the bundle at this point.

Go back to the diagram I attached to post#5 with Pin-9 path highlighted and physically trace the wires from point to point.

Let me try to explain what’s going on. I followed the main harness off of th solenoid back towards the F/R switch. After finally getting in insulation cover off the harness I found the broken red and orange wire just before the plug at the reverse side. Inside the harness was the red and orange/red stripe. After cleaning them up and a closer look I realized there was 2 orange/red stripes on plug side and a red and orange/red stripe on other side. When butt connecting them which wire goes where? I have 1 red and 3 orange/red stripes. Does it matter?

I don’t think anyone has been inside that harness. It has the wirebraid as it took me an hour to get as far as I did just getting it off without damaging the wires any further. Looked like corrosion on each end of the wires. I will study the diagram further just didn’t see where the red spliced into orange/red but that’s what I have. 3 oranger 1 red so the red has to join to a oranger wire. Just which one.

I am thinking that 2 wires should be tied together into one connector.
Thoughts? Thanks again. This has been a pain finding this broken wire.

Thanks KG, I just got done looking at the diagram and believe I have figured it out. Now to see if the solenoid will activate when everything is back together. Thanks for the input

I found a better schematic for the later version of the F/R with the plug in microswitches and shows the color code of the wires connected to each.

Hope it's not to late to help.
