99 TXT Performance
I have a 99 TXT, as shown in my sig, that I upgraded. Here is what I did; 48v conversion with brand new T875s, Admiral MOT-B1 motor, 600a altrax SR controller, SW202 FR contactor, 400 solenoid, 2ga wires. Is there anything i can do to get more speed? Is there a better motor i can get? I'm fine with sacrificing a little torque. Are there different settings for my controller? When i give it full throttle starting out on a hill it only shows less than 300A when i have computer hooked up on monitoring page of the the tool kit software? Also it has a 6" Jakes spindle lift are there better shocks out there i can change out to give it a better ride? Thanks for any help.

What size tires are on the cart? What is the max RPM you are seeing in the monitor section on the Alltrax?
Seems a somewhat common issue is to have the wrong field mapping in the controller for whatever motor is installed. Did you get the B1 field mapping installed into the controller? What speed are you getting and what speed do you want? |

My tires are 22x11x10. Not sure on the RPMs i will check. I currently get around 19mph on flat and 14mph up hills.

Looks like you have a ME5 or Shuttle 4, both of which have a 14.7:1 gears, so it will be 18% slower than a TXT with 12.44:1 gears.
Also, it is a series drive, so it doesn't have a speed sensor and no motor RPM will be reported on the monitor page, or data logs. FWIW: With 14.7:1 gears and 22" tall tires, the motor is spinning at 4267RPM at 19MPH. |

How do I check to see if it is a ME5 or a shuttle 4? it looks like it might have been stretched later based on seeing extension pieces under it. How do i know if I have the correct field map for my motor on my controller?

However, the Admiral B1 has higher than stock torque, so the 300A you mention in Post#1 does sound a little low starting from a standstill going uphill. Of course, the monitor screen in Toolkit might lag real-time a bit and max amp draw only occurs during low RPM. Record a data log on the computer while driving and when starting on an uphill. (Turn key off for a few seconds before starting up the hill. That will mark where the max effort acceleration begins.) Use continuous sampling mode for the data log, that gives the picture for analysis. The data log file is saved in .csv (comma separated values) format and which cannot be attached to a post, but if you zip it, you can attach the resulting .zip file. Remember, you have to "Start" recording the data log and then "Stop" it before closing Toolkit, or the data log file won't be saved. The attached screen capture is from my XCT controller, so your monitor screen with a SR controller will be different, but the Data Log controls will be the same. |
