97 ezgo txt help!!
New to the forum and need some guidance! Just recently bought s 36volt txt and I love it it has a lift and wheels but as I read they lack uphill power, I want to use this as a hunting cart and will need some power and need some suggestions on what to do, I have 6 6volt Trojan batteries and would hate buying new batteries but not sure what to do but I need some hill power to haul atleast 3 guys in and out of the woods!

Re: 97 ezgo txt help!!
The BEST advice is sell the battery pack and replace with 6/8v batteries. If you add 2 more 6v the cart will be 150 pounds heavier than 8/6v. This will adversely effect the power to weight ratio... like having a passenger who never gets out of the cart... and that back seat - it weighs 100 pounds too. as you see the weight is adding up fast against the electric motor.

Yeah my only concern is getting rid of the batteries might be kinda tough they are only a year old though, how much do Trojan 6volt batteries usually run for and what would be a good price for 6 of them to sell

Re: 97 ezgo txt help!!
They sell for $100 each plus or minus - 1 yr old pack should be easy to sell on CL.

Oh okay for some reason I thought they were 1200 a piece now that I look into a 48v setup it would be cheaper than I thought to do, what’s a good controller and motor solenoid, also where can I find the existing solenoid and controller To see what I already have on the cart

Re: 97 ezgo txt help!!
The controller should be under the seat on the passenger side. It should have some sort of plastic cover over the top of it that may, or may not, have a wingnut on the top of it. Solenoid is a cyndrical looking thing usually attached around the front of the controller.
