I just had the same question. I went with installing a 12 Volt outlet and usb combo off amazon. And a inverter.

For what it's worth at this point for this year, I got the lights in 2 days from amazon.

One of the reviews said they would run 6 hours on a new set of batteries, 3 Double A.

Mine have been running outside through 14 inches of snow and 3 inches of rain, nonstop 24/7 for 10 days now same batteries, Duracell Double A. Ad said indoor use only.

I bought 12v remote control lights. Cheap and easy. They work fine and have 8 settings to play with.

These were $7.99. Said multi-colored. They do blue and red and flash or steady.

Been flashing for a long time now.

They are on a golf cart I had decorated for Christmas as a yard display. I still can't believe they are still working with the batteries I put in and the weather they have been through.
