Cool JUST bought 1987 Marathon

My wife decided to buy a ez-go golf cart for 400$ with no batteries. AFTER our club car caught fire. Any kind of advice or manuals for this 1987 would be helpful.

So… I'm curious. Do you know what caused the previous cart to catch fire?
