That seemed to do the trick however the battery is still not getting as strong as the others. I should have mentioned that it hasn’t run in 5 years so maybe that fuse is going bad. Ram it around for a little while and the other 5 weee reading 6.38 but the first was was reading 6.23

If it was wired wrong it might take a few charges to get them all in balance.

Thank you all for the replies. This seems like a great community. This was the picture I took prior to changing batteries. The golf cart has been to El Paso, Kansas, and now SC without running so I’m not sure how that wire was connected like that. Any case thanks. Anything else I should pay attention to after it has been sitting for so long and what is the name of that fuse on the white wire? Thanks again.

That is just a 60 amp fuse to protect the charger. Just move it over to the + post and run with it unless it has failed.

You can find them at auto parts stores. ANL-60 and similar.

Most chargers are fuse protected in and of themselves. I'm under the impression it is to protect the cart from catching on fire is someone (kid?) managed to stick a wrench or other metallic object in the charger port, where there are exposed B- and B+ terminals an inch apart.

---------------------
If you can lay your hands on a 6V battery charger, charge the low battery separately until it's at-rest voltage is up close to the other batteries.

I will do that. Thanks so much for the replies from everyone. It has been a huge help. It’s nice to have my golf cart running again.

Some of the chargers didn't have internal fusing, so a serious charger fault could cause some serious damage to the cart as well.

I believe the charger is working. It showed solid green after a few hours of charging.

I understand that it appears to be working, I was just explaining why a fuse would be found at that white wire.

Oh ok got ya. Thanks. As mentioned I’m not mechanically inclined so just getting to figure everything out. So I initially bought this golf cart to take to ocean lakes in myrtle beach and that was back in 2011. Since then it’s been to Ft. Bliss TX, Ft. Riley Kansas and now back to SC which is my home. It hasn’t run since 2014 and has been moved around. Also when we moved to Kansas the movers dropped it off the truck as it was coming down the ramp. So with that said what else has a tendency to break down over the years. Thanks.
