The springs have 3 leaves but are rusty. And are they suppose to be bowed upward like that?

Got some battery price quotes today from a local ez-go dealer

Powertron P8000 (in stock) - $780 plus tax
Trojan T-875 (1 week delivery) - $1029 plus tax

Looks like new springs are in your future. They should bow the other way.

And since I am doing this, I am going to replace the rear axle fluid which is recommended after 5 years. I may even pull the pumpkin and replace the rusty hardware.
