Default Anyone have this charger

I'm working on my neighbors cart. He passed away so not much info on cart available. The charger is a KP900F-45Q. When I got the cart it had been sitting unplugged for at least 6 months. Batteries are Trojan 6volt. They are 5 years old. All the cables were heavily corroded. I removed all the cables today to clean everything up. Had to replace a few connectors that were toast. I was able to charge up the batteries with the charger. Batteries were almost completely dead. I guess this charger will charge a completely dead battery. I checked with my voltmeter and it cut off around 44.5 volts. I took the cart for a drive and it would run about 18mph. Batteries only lasted 1 mile and cart started to slow. Most likely they are shot with this age and poor care. Does this sound right? Also anyone have this charger or know anything about it?

What’s the amperage output of that thing? Hopefully it’s not 5-7...

Is it a 36 or 48v cart. If 36 your cut off voltage sounds about right.

I would try a couple more back to back charges and see what happens.

That’s a goon one then. I’ve had a few of them. Keep it dry and use it!

I don’t see a brand clearly labeled on it. They are available on eBay, or at least they used to be. I found them to be quite good for the price if you could get the higher amperage output ones like you have. Yes, mine were exactly the same.

I'm just helping with the cart and will give it back to the family/neighbor. I'm familiar with the powerdrive chargers on the club cars but don't know anything about this one or Ezgo's. Since the batteries were dead I guess there is no min charge to get these chargers to charge dead batteries? Do they ramp up and then ramp down as the batteries are charged? Google tells me the KP stands for Kingpan.

The charger has been on now for about 13 hours. The pack is showing 43.4. I am curious to see if this charger will shut off at a certain pack volt (it should) or if not has an internal timer to keep the batteries from boiling. Before I cleaned the batteries and cables it would charge for a few hours and shut off. The pack was getting to 44 more quickly before I cleaned everything. Not sure why except maybe not taking a deep charge. Maybe it's doing it's thing now that everything is clean. I'll manually disconnect at the 24 hour mark if it does not shut off.
