Default Ezgo RXV vs Yamaha drive 2 quietech

Looking at a newer cart - had an older gas club car but sold it. Lots of hills in my area and will drive the cart pretty often for distances of 10 miles or more in a day. Narrowed it down to the above carts. Just trying to get some insight as to what everyone thinks would work best. Like to go upper 20’s for speed and have read about Bob and his RXV programming. Didn’t find much on the Drive 2 speed increases. Thanks.

RXV for sure, if you want it upgraded via reprogramming. Look for a 2014 or later if you want the most programmable options, 2016 or later if you want it to come from the factory with a 48V coil solenoid. This matters only if you want it to not requiring setting adjustments if you need to replace the solenoid in the future. With stock ~18" tires, 26 to 27 MPH with proper tire inflation and 28% more torque. With 20.5" tires, you'll lose a bit of the torque gain, but still decent, and around 32 MPH...

I’m looking at a 2016 RXV but it has 23” tires with - from what I’ve read in your posts I should just take those off and put 20.5” tires unless I want to damage that Curtis 235 amp controller. Anything else I should check before I buy it. About what range and speed should it be getting with the 23” tires. They said it was “turned up” in a two step process. Step one was setting it to freedom mode and step 2 was a chip they used to turn it up a little higher yet?

What they use is a Passkey which once inserted puts the cart in Freedom mode and set the speed at 17.5mph. Next they hook up a Curtis handheld and take the speed to 19.5mph which is the highest setting.

If the tires on the cart are taller then 18" the cart will have a higher speed then the 19.5mph.

Thanks for the info. So anything else to check for that would be a gotcha before I buy an RXV?
