And so, the pulling teeth begins
Bailey, how about some more info for the guys who are trying to help? Do you have fuel spark and compression? What have you checked? Is the battery fully charged? |

Re: 1974 EZGO gas
I jumped the cycloid and it turned over and even started. Ran for a min. or so then died and I could not get it to turn over again. The battery is good. I’m going to check all wiring connections next. I’m thinking the pedal switch?
Sorry about the lack of info. |

Re: 1974 EZGO gas
if you jumped the solenoid and it worked then you may have a bad solenoid.

Re: 1974 EZGO gas
OK it's a robin engine model # EC17DS Displacement cc 175. There is a wire that is not connected ( yellow with black stripe ) I think when the last guy changed cycloid he put in the wrong one (852-1211-210-30 Trombetta torque max small 36 inch lbs large 36 inch lbs 07/50) I jumped it out to start it now it sometimes starts and then not so I tapped on the (NIPPONDENSO) which it the electric start motor I believe and it will turnover. Are there brushes in there that I can change?

Re: 1974 EZGO gas
Thanks, Now I have to see about pulling the motor out to get to the brushes. I think that it the only way to get to them? Any idea where the yellow with black stripe should go?
