Default 88 clutch install

Can I put the drive clutch back on with the motor in the cart. I rebuilt the engine and would like to get it back in the cart but my new clutch wont be here until tomorrow. I am hoping to take it hunting this weekend.

you should be able to do it however to drive the bolt in with an impact will be problematic unless the cart is lifted. Set the motor in place and see if you can get at the clutch bolt straight on. If not I would wait.

It is lifted 4 or 5 inches. I was able to get the impact on it to remove the bolt but didnt pull the clutch until the motor was out. I am just worried it wont slide on the crank without hitting the rearend housing.

It should go on with no problem. I've pulled mine off my 87' and replaced the rear seal without removing the engine. It's tight, but it will go on.

You will need to pull clutch together with your hands to have room to slide it on shaft, not easy but can be done, good luck,Jackie

thanks guys. I went ahead and put the motor in and left the bolts loose for the engine cradle. New clutch slid right in.

Glad to here it. Have you got the engine running yet? Make sure you have the right amount of oil mix for a new engine, don't want to blow it up on the first tank of gas. I can look at the tag on my tank if you need to know the mix for breaking in.
