Re: workhorse performance
Like Mike said your motor is a 350cc 11hp. there is no mods possible that is gonna make it turn 27 & bigger tires It is time for yo to start looking into a much bigger motor I got 25hp turning 25s. That is workin'

Re: workhorse performance
Depends which model workhorse you have as to what engine is in it. 800g's have the 295 while 1200g's have the 350. At any rate you need at least 16hp to turn 27" mudbugs pretty well. If you do indeed have a 350 as others claim you have, then you can just add a 295 head to it to get enough power to have it all work pretty well. If your going to install a vtwin go with an 18hp or better.

Re: workhorse performance
My 98 has a 295 in it.. and it came from a Disney fleet, I have looked at
some of the others that came from this sell off, and they all had 295cc motors. Well.. the two that I looked at did. They are all 800 series carts. I still like mine though..even if it has the lowly 295 engine..It climbs my hill everyday without a sputter. I am running 8" rims with stock bald tires |

Re: workhorse performance
It really depends on where your running the cart, I have run 26" tires with a 295 and it still worked, was real slow going up hills but would get up some decent speed on flat ground.
I just happen to a set of 27" mudbugs on my st480 and I know what it takes to use them to thier fullest in all conditions. mine measure 28 3/4" tall sitting on the ground, that's a little bigger than even I wanted. |
