found the answer! search works with right words. according to mb523 in jan. 2008 you do not preload this clutch since it works in both directions. seems to make sense. yipee! jim

well, it will be awhile. friend and i pulled this thing out of the weeds and thought we would fix it up cheaply for the kids. have the engine torn down and will put in a piston and rings, do the seals and gaskets, etc. probably will need a new belt. throw on some salvaged tires and a nother motor mount we found and go from there. should be running for less than $100-BUT, you know how it goes. will probably add to that list (lift, bigger tires front cap, paint? ) anyway, thx. jim

Well I am glad to be of assistance! This looks like a great start to a fun project! I am sure the kids will appreciate it. By the way, the list never ends... you just keep finding more things to add to it!

Keep up the good work and be sure to keep us posted!
