New Buggy Owner
Hi gang been lurking for a couple weeks & joined up today. I just recently bought a Electric EZGO it's a 1995 but the only thing that is 1995 on it is the frame the rest is all new. It has a LA Concepts 7in lift, LA Concepts HD leaf springs, D&D high torque motor, Alltrax 500amp programmable controller, HG solenoid, HD f/r switch, 6 new 6volt batteries, HD 4ga battery & motor cables, 1 new deep cycle battery with on-board charger to run the dual switch headlights, black steel wheels, bear claw mudders, custom camo seat & custom camo paint job. I would like to add an analog battery meter in the next couple weeks & need some helpful info on how to do that. I will be using the buggy for hunting but was wondering since this is my 1st electric buggy exactly how to i go about maintaining everything so it will last me a long long time & what are some good tools or instruments on maintaining my batteries. I have had several old timers tell me different things to do & not to do on charging & maintaining the batteries but all opinions were different. Any help you can give me from installing the analog battery meter to anything else will be greatly appreciated. I will get pic of my "Poor Boy Buggy" up this evening.

Re: New Buggy Owner
welcome to BGW....what is it these guys say? this post is worthless without some pics.............lol............sounds like a nice buggy.....why go with an analog meter why not go with a digital readout meter.....check out the one that scottyb sells its a great meter just look at his avatar and click on the meter.............as for tools 2 that come to mind is a service manual and a digital voltage meter.......you,ll use both plenty................batteries make sure you always let the charger finish once you start and always keep water level right and battery cable ends clean and tight.........it takes 15 minutes a month and you,ll get years of service out of them as long as you do maintencce on them...........anytime your gonna work in there disconnect your main pos. and neg. battery cables and tape ends up in case they touch somewhere, and when adding something that has a ground all grounds go to a neg. battery terminal never to the cart body anywheres...........this is just some basics that if followed will prevent a lot of issues that should have never happened..........check out that meter.......................
