Reverse all the time
Hello EZgoers,
I am having trouble figuring out my carts problem. I have serched this forum for several days and now I am at an impass. I believe my controller is bad but need re-assurance. My golf cart goes in reverse regardless of the F/R switch position. The F/R switch is below my knees and the cart has Tow/Maint switch under the seat. The micro switches on the F/R switch are good. The coil engages when the accelerator pedal is pressed. What I do not know is the year of my cart and the type of controller I have. The manufacturing code is C199 and the serial # is 1154686. Any help is appreciated. My local repair shop had no answers for me. |

Re: Reverse all the time
Looks to be a 1999 model, and I have one doing the same thing? Someone may shed some light before too long. A lot of the EZGO guru's are not on here every day, I have tried everything but a controller.

Re: Reverse all the time
You are showing a 9 pin DCS cart. The F&R shifting is done in the Controller. This is one way the Sepex controls die.
Inspect you F1 and F2 wires to the motor for shorts against the battery frame or clip before you install the new unit. This likely applies to both carts |

Re: Reverse all the time
Scotty thanks for that info I will check tomorrow. Also when I try and hook
the B- up it makes a little spark and the Back Up Buzzer tries to make a noise but never works no matter where the gear selector is. |

Re: Reverse all the time
That doesn't sound good. The Run/Tow switch shuts the controller logic circuits off in the Tow position, so it shouldn't be drawing any current. Any accessories attached to battery?

Re: Reverse all the time
No accessories at all? I will check for short in connections tomorrow if I find nothing I
am thinking it is controller related, maybe shorted inside? |

Re: Reverse all the time
Yes , or possibly the motor is shorted inside. Check the motor for unwanted continuity
