Default 1993 Marathon Electric Motor Wiring

I have a 1993 EZGO Marathon and I am trying to figure out to to rig up the electric motor. I think the motor is the old GE motor. It has two posts in the front, one in the middle, and one in the back. I need to figure out which ones are A1, A2, S1, S2. Thanks.

I can't help you with the exact answer but you can help yourself doing this:

Take an ohm meter (just for continouity test) and put one of the leads to any of the motor posts. Poke around the other 3 posts until you found one of them reading continouity with the first post.
You just found either A1 and A2 or S1 and S2. The other two remaining posts should read continouity between eachother!

Now if you name these pairs or mark them A1 and A2 and S1 and S2 respectively ,even though your marking might not be the actual A1,A2 etc. You can still hook up your wiring following your diagram! The worst thing can happen is that the cart might operate in the opposite directions from what the F&R switch is put into. In that case you just reverse either A1 and A2, OR S1 and S2 (not both/all) and it will be back in order!

Remember you can only put your A marks on a pair with continouity and your S marks on the other pair! Then you will have no problem!

Unless someone can come up with a picture on your motor showing the actual connections, this is how I would do it!

I can pretty much guarantee that you will find the armature and field connections ID's stamped in the motor case. May need to scrape/brush/clean etc., but 99.999% of the time the motor mfr stamps the ID's in the case.

The two at the back, on the removable case part, are A1 & A2. Don't know which is which.
The two in line on the main motor case are S1 & S2. Don't know which is which.

If I was doing it, I would just connect them up and try it.
S1/2 go to the F/R switch and might be different lengths, so they might only fit one way.
If so and the F/R switch does match direction cart moves, reverse A1/2.

Added: Be sure to use two wrenches so the studs on the motor don't turn!!!!!

In case you are still looking, here's a drawing I happened to run across while looking for something entirely different.
