Re: My first G9, the saga begins...
plus their is so much info in here and people willing to help with advise. i started from the bare frame but if your just going to replace the engine it dosent take long to swap out. the only welding you would need then if you use the stock motor mount is when you weld the plate in. i wanted to just bolt it but the two back bolts were in the way so i had to take the bolts out after i welded it. you will need to trim part of the rear bracket out so you can make your slots for you engine to bolt in. my cart starts up and runs just like a golf cart. just a little louder and ALOT MORE POWER. i can post more pictures of how i did mine if you need. i still use my stock clutch and belts.

Re: My first G9, the saga begins...
Here is a picture of the plate i made for mine that i welded in solid. you can see how i bolted it first then in one of the pictures you can see that the motor is sitting on the back bolts and thats why i had to weld it solid.

Re: My first G9, the saga begins...
i will take some pictures of the throttle set up. its very simple. it took me a little to figure out how i wanted to do it but once i got it figured out it was simple. the predator engine from harbor freight is the engine that i used and they had them in stock. i got the adapter for my clutch from CCP and i rebuilt my clutch also so i wouldnt have to worry about. once i got it apart it was in worse shape than i thought it was. if you get the predator engine make sure you get harbor freights 20% off coupon.

Re: My first G9, the saga begins...
we have 6 carts that we maintain. the blue cart now belongs to my mother in-law the red one i left in Texas for my dad. im building the one from the frame up for myself with the clone engine and the G16 belongs to the wife. i also have 2 more G9s that i just got. one i plan on taking to Texas for my sister once i get a lift and tires for it. i do all my own work and painting, its a great hobby and keeps me out of the house.

Do yourself a favor and cut a small piece of metal to use as a template for the clutch spacing before removing your engine. |
