Precedent Hunting Buggies - Lets see pics!
I am in the process of building a hunting buggy out of a 2006 Club car precedent and need some ideas.
If you have a Precedent and have it rigged for hunting, post some pics! Thanks in advance! |

Re: Precedent Hunting Buggies - Lets see pics!
If you have a Precedent which has a Regen motor first off do not get in a stall situation. Basically, if it does not want to go over a hill or gets stuck, stop and get your winch. Don't think that just a little more "gas" will get you out of a bind.
You can look at my picture to see my cart. It is lifted with 22 inch tires, extended top and windshield. A rear flip flop seat goes a long ways for carrying supplies. As you can see mine is a 2008.5+ Precedent, but it now has a series motor. I use my cart pretty hard going over hills and through mud. It also has to carry a 25 gallon sprayer and such so I expect a lot out of the cart. If you baby the Regen motor you will be fine, just know your limits and stop before you get to them with the cart. I am not the one who needs to answer your question from a technical standpoint on this question. Only from experience can I tell you to be very careful with a Regen motor. I used mine quite a bit before messing something up so you may never have a problem.
From what I can gather and understand a Regen motor is not as durable as a Series motor if you want to creep around the woods or drive through thick stuff. Hopefully someone will jump in and give you a better technical answer. Thomas |

There is a lot you have to do to be able to run a series motor on a Precedent. I took mine to a friend who did all the conversion. Is it worth it? Every last penny.
I just picked mine up today and to say it has more torque is a big understatement. I wished I had done this from the start as now my cart is faster and has more torque. I will try and write up a post explaining what happened to my cart and what I ended up doing to fix the problem. Thomas |

Re: Precedent Hunting Buggies - Lets see pics!
Here's a few pics of mine. Bought a stock 09 Club Car Precedent. Added 6" lift, tires & wheels, camo body, flip down back seat, brush guard, front cargo basket, removed windshield & added padded shooting rest, horizontal two gun rack, floor mounted two gun rack w/extra support, 6 cell mag light, & fire extinguisher. Next on the list is a receiver hitch, separate 12v deep cycle battery to run drive & hunting lights (to be stored in cubby hole in back hopefully), drive lights, hunting lights, (all will be switched separately), and finally will do an electrical upgrade for the power train (series motor, controller, switch, wiring etc). If I can ever find a roof rack for it I'll slap that on there too. This is my pig stalker & is nice & quiet, except it's starting to get a little squeaky in the front...gonna try & lube it up. Works great though, I love it but definitely need the motor upgrade. I tried crawling through a plowed field & the motor got hot & shut down on me a few times. I don't like that smell so I mounted the fire extinguisher just in case. I guess the constant "go/slow down/go/slow down" crawling over the rows & mounds in the field was too much for the Regen motor. It did however still manage to drag three big boar hogs out of other fields & pastures that weren't as rough.
