Suggested making sure pack is fully charged (will verify when I return home tomorrow, but it charged enough that the charger dropped amperage down.

Suggested battery 'conditioning' to make sure they are at their full capability.

He said he measured 18mph on his Garmin, but we have not discussed whether or not it was done with a reverse beeper hooked up. His 18mph vs my 13mph is a big difference in speed, so i'm really hoping to get back to the ~18mph.

Looks like I can get a beeper on ebay/amazon for like $10. Would be a fairly easy thing to try I guess.

I will be doing voltage checks at some point tomorrow afternoon to see where I am actually at.

Is it possible your reverse alarm is simply unplugged? Do you know where the alarm is?

Never mind, I just went back and read the first post.

I may have inadvertently disconnected the beeper on a (dozen) PDS cart and it never effected the drive mode, But it does cancel out any chance of using diagnostic mode.
I've since changed my ways and I put tape over the hole to muffle the alarm some

Isnt diagnostic mode NEEDED to be able to CHANGE the drive modes?

I'm wondering if the beeps are slow enough that I can capture it on my DVM. That would at least tell me a little bit of what is going on. I guess if I try to go into Diagnostic mode, but I get NO voltage going through the DVM... then I know I've got a bigger problem.

No, it is not needed. The controller logic checks the Molex port for a "chip" each time the Run/Tow switch is set to Run, then it decides which mode to operate in. Diagnostic mode will merely confirm which mode the controller is in, as well as signal a few other faults if they are present.

Actually you should be getting more than 18mph out of that cart. You should be able to get very close to 18mph with just the speed chip. With a high speed rewind motor on stock controller, you should be in the 20's. I think you may have another problem.

Unfortunately... not yet. Cart is in storage in the next town over.

Hope to be able to tackle it sometime this week.

I'm surprised the seller hasn't been eager to resolve this
