Default input shaft play?

So i have a quick question, how much if any play should be on the input shaft of a g16? Ive heard some is normal but what is the definition of some??? I notice about 1/8 inch or so of play and was curious.

Are you asking for the trans or the steering shaft? If trans I really don't know, if any play at all. If steering shaft, I've read most are about an inch at the steering wheel. You can adjust it on the steering box. There is a little adjustment screw, see diagram below.

Ok cool , all i have is very little in and out but zero up and down. I noticed it while going over everything.

But you'll probably want to set the pitman shaft jamb screw that Sprid is talking about as well one of these days!!

I agree with Mike and Sprid you might want to set that screw on the pitman anyways. It makes a huge difference between a hairy steering at high speeds and feeling of more control
