Default Plastic washer between secondary sheaves?

Hey guys. I just put a shim in the secondary clutch of my 84 G1. I reinstalled it without the plastic washer in between the sheaves. Is it ok to run like this? The sticky for the new stiffer spring upgrade said to not reinstall the plastic washer. Now I do understand the reasoning for not reinstalling it but will it now have premature wear on the new contact points on the sheaves? I just don't want to run into problems down the road. Your thoughts?

It should work good, 3/8" shim will work good there.

I already put a 1/4 inch steel shim behind my spring. I'm talking about the plastic washer between the sheaves. Is it ok that I removed it? I don't want to damage anything.

You'll be fine. The sheaves don't stay together long enough to wear much and it will give you a little more "umphh" on the bottom end.

It just keeps them from contacting, like if your belt is worn. I took mine out a long time ago it never mattered.
