Default 2007 ezgo 36v???

Hello,

I have just picked up a 2007 ezgo txt 36v. And I know this is gonna sound wierd, but here goes..

Took it out for a ride today, and within 500 yards going over just hard pack...the cart seemed to loose power. And if you backed off the pedal it would move on, at a slow pace.

I have a charger that lights up and blinks slow...so please post here and give me some ideas.

Can you take a voltage reading on the battery pack? That will give us a starting point.

Thanks for your reply..When I purchased it the other day, the previous owner probed the batteries and it was above 36v. 36.7 I believe.

Also..another bit of info, when the pedal was pushed completly down, the cart would seem to shudder, then if I backed off to say mid pedal..the cart would continue but just at a slow pace

The original batteries are still in it. Could it be that they charge fine, then almost immediatly discharge with a short ride???

Yes, you have bought a cart that probably needs batteries.
38.4 is a full charge, not 36v.
Shuddering is a classic low voltage sign.
Most battery packs last 4-5 years.
Hope this helps.

Research battery AH capacity and get the highest Amp Hour Capacity you can afford, Cheap batteries have less capacity, don't be fooled. you need 200-225ah in a 6v battery.

I have found some 110 minute batteries. $89.95. Thanks for the info, I will see what the AH capacity is before purchase

Also compare batteries by weight. Amperage is stored in lead plates. the higher the plate count the heavier the battery, The manufactures claims BS stops right there. The heaviest battery is the best. Don't price shop to a fault here it will bite you in diminished performance and useful life expectancy. Look for a 62-64 #battery and compare everything to the snip below.
