Default Clubcar ds tire rub 12" wheels

I have a 06 clubcar ds gas that I just installed 12x7 (2+5 offset) itp wheels with 205x30-12 low profile tires. My cart is not lifted and when I turn left the left tire is rubbing on the air intake that is inside the fender. Has anyone expierenced this issue and if so how have you corrected it? Will a 1" front body lift correct this issue? If not does the jakes 2" wheelbase extension kit make the cart look funny since the front tires will be pushed farther forward than the front bumper? Any input would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with the air intake in the fender, can you post a pic?

I have the 2 inch extension. I love the way it makes the front end look. I think it will only help the front end look.

Did you install the extension kit yourself? It looks easy besides relocating the shock mount.

I don't agree with taking the intake duct work out,
not only do you lose your choke, but, you may have to rejet your carb for it to run properly.

I had rubbing on the duct when I added 2" spacers on the front of my 07 cart,
I've since added a Jake's spindle lift which completely got rid of the rubbing.
I'm thinking a slight lift, or extension plate would be better.

Here's a couple of pics to show the duct work under the drivers side wheel well on newer CC's:

I have a Villager 8 and added the Jakes extender.
I read the instructions and thought it would be an all day job.

Pick up some long wire ties and only remove what you need to.

Long story short, 1 hour installation.

I just wanted to post a follow up on my issues with 12" tire rub on my stock clubcar. I finally purchased the Jake's wheelbase extension kit. The kit was easy to install and my concern was the look tof the cart after this kit was installed. Done Deal was correct in saying it only helped the look of the cart. Not only did it correct the rub issue but it also improved the look of the cart. The spacing of the wheels on the front of the cart is now evenly spaced around the front fender instead of being tucked back closer to the floorboard. Thanks for all who responded and hopefully this post will help someone in the future.
