What is this harness for?
07 Precedent.
Looked under the dash today and located an unused harness clip along with 4 wires that are also not being used. I have a couple of constant 12 volt wires and a switched 48 volt wire along with ground, etc. Were there options that could have been ordered with this cart or are these all some sort of access wires for add ons? |

The headlights and taillights are all in working order.
The headlight does have a small orange bulb on each side that does not appear to be functional. Could it be some sort of optional signal hook up? |

Yes that is for turn signals that you can upgrade to. My DS has the same. There is no bulb or socket in the amber light just a rubber plug to keep the dirt and water out. But the sockets are cheap. I plan on adding signals to mine in the next couple of weeks.

Mine actually does appear to have orange bulbs in them...I might have to look a bit closer to make sure but that's what it looks like, orange bulbs under the clouded clear lens.

Re: What is this harness for?
yes thats an accessory plug ... the 48v would be for the soc meter .. the 12v's would be horn, radio ... ect

Re: What is this harness for?
Hooked up a meter to the switched 48 volt lead and works well.
I am / was planning on running the radio to an isolated 12 volt battery in the rear but since I located this 12 volt lead I hooked up to it at least through the Winter. I figure no use purchasing a new battery now just to sit through the Winter. I see no leads at the batteries that run from each side of a battery, but I see leads that run from the first battery and the last battery so I am assuming the cart uses a voltage reducer to get the 12 volt lead. I think I have answered my own question, but I had a concern that the radio would draw off one of the batteries using it's power and lowering it below the charge on the other batteries. If it "appears" to use a voltage reducer and the leads run out 48 volts from the batteries then it sounds to me like it would use current from each battery instead of just one. Am I correct in how this might draw the power to the 12 volt lead? |

Re: What is this harness for?
only way to tell is follow the leads that run from the first battery to see if you can find a voltage reducer
but if you have a wire off the first battery negative i would say that is your 12v supply |

Re: What is this harness for?
That plug is used to connect a turn signal/horn column switch for the ultimate light upgrade. (horn, brake lights, blinkers) The 4 other wires ( orange, green, blue, and blue white stripe ) are to connect to a relay that will sent power to the brake connections under the panel on the floor near the pedal assembly. If you have plans for upgrading your lights, I wouldn't recommend using these connections as they will be necessary for the upgrade.
