Default Club Car Automatically Braking.

Hi All, I have just bought a 2010 Precedent IQ...and when I lift off the accelerator pedal (even on the flat) the cart will very soon start to brake automatically and come to a complete stop fairly quickly. It's as though I have braked but I haven't even touched the brake pedal? Is this normal? and if so what can I do to rectify? Thanks.

It is the regen braking system.

Thanks fishing dude. Is it normal for the Regen system to do brake so hard and quick? Is there something that can be done to stop it?

Thumbs up Re: Club Car Automatically Braking.

The cart can be reporgrammed by a dealer with a programmer to use less Pedal Up Braking, or even No Pedal Up Braking

Most Authorised Dealers have the programmers and will for a small fee reprogram that for you

Hope this helps

One other thing you may want to check. Put the cart in tow and it should push pretty easy. If not the brake may be dragging.

I think there are 3 settings, yours sounds like it's set on the harshest one...

Try pushing it in tow as someone said earlier. If it hard to push the brakes are dragging. make sure the bottom piece the brake pads rest on is moving freely. if you go through puddles this piece will rust up sometimes and make the self adjuster over adjust.

I am having same problem, my reverse buzzer even sounds when it goes into braking. Was working fine and just started doing this, can the program change on its own? Curiously, the buzzer used to sound if it coasted backwards, now it does not, is this related?
