hello, just wondering if the cylinder and rings specs are the same for a g 9 and g14. rebuilding a g14 and found that g14 takes a different ring set than the g9 but all other parts are the same. thanks for now.

Re: g14 specs
The G-14 is basicly a 1 year car. It has a JN5 engine block, with a larger piston.

Re: g14 specs
the piston must be longer in length, not diameter because they both measure 73 mm, which led me to wonder why there were different ring sets for the g9 and g 14

Re: g14 specs
ok. maybe i dont have a g14/ cant locate model number. looked every where, the cylinder measures 73 dia, the head gasket is exactly the same as my g9 the only part that is different is the air filter and the way the air filter is run, comes out behind drivers leg. is there any other way i can tell what i have for a cart.

Re: g14 specs
That is a G14 car. Maybe some put a J38 long block into it? The block (behaind the cylinder) would be stamped (J3. It would work fine as long as you use the G14 ignition pickup, the flywheel and coil from the G14.
