89 club car DS motor rebuild?
Is it possible (and cheap) to rebuild or rebrush an electric motor yourself? or where is the cheapest place to find a replacement motor? mine is an 89 club car DS with V-glide. its getting 37.4 volts to the motor with fully charged batteries (one year old) and ive traced power all the way to the lugs on the motor, so im 99% sure the motor has gave up the ghost. it tries to pull, but wont. any help is appreciated. thanks.

Re: 89 club car DS motor rebuild?
Welcome to BGW!
I would test the motor just to be sure: To test run a series motor Remove all cables from the motor; connect a jumper from A1 to S1. Connect 12 to 24 volts, positive @ A2 and negative @ S2. Swap S1 and S2 to change rotation direction. Make sure you have the rear end on jack stands... |

if the motor is toast, call Plum Quick (sponsor).
They can rebuild it. they have the knowledge. You won't be disappointed. |
