Posi-Traction Rear End
When (if ever) and what models (if any) did Yamaha make with a "positive-traction", or "limited-slip" differential?
If I were to get another cart....gottsa G9 now...I'd kinda like to look for one that puts power to both wheels...IF they made sucha thing. |

Re: Posi-Traction Rear End
only golf cart aftermarket limited slip is the buggies unlimited. We had one of the members talking about making a spool for the G9. not sure if they had time for it.

Re: Posi-Traction Rear End
a spool is not a differential. it is a carrier that locks both drive axles together. A full spool replaces the differential carrier with a new solid carrier that just splines the axle shafts. a mini-spool is a machined block that replaces the side gears and spider gears in the stock differential carrier with a block that is splined to the axles locking them solid. neither of these devices allow for slippage when turning as they make the rear axle solid. tight turns would cause front end to push or one wheel to spin. basicly same as a LINCOLN LOCKER which is when the spider gears are welded to the side gears and lock both axles together. hope this helps

There's this, but I think it's for the G16. It's on my long list. |
