Forgot to look at locations. You guys in the south have it nice, good carts priced really reasonably are everywhere down there. The Yami sounds like a great choice to me, though I still will say that if cost savings are what you're after, a DS is very economical. That's not to take away from a Yamaha cart, just presenting both as good options.

In general I agree with everybody, but whatever you do stay with CC, ezgo or Yamaha for parts and service availability.

Unless the batteries are new (and provable), consider the real cost of the cart as X plus the cost of batteries in your area. Even batteries that can be proven as well maintained (rare) once they get beyond 2 years old the cart should be discounted (pro rated) based on 4 yr battery life.

Refurbished, rejuvenated, "newer" or similar advertisements are code for "batteries are shot".

My opinion.

This question is about like asking "who makes the best pickup truck?". Everyone has their own opinion.

It all depends, the powerstroke has been junk since the 7.3 was replaced.

Why are we limiting this cart to no modifications? Today's drop in speed control upgrades are miles above stock performance & most are plug and play.

Case in point. Ezgo series and Alltrax SPM400/200 HD sol for just $449 increases torque by allowing a 40% increase in available amperage which will increase torque by a proportionate amount.

Nice plug Scotty ...Controller upgrades are fine - but only if needed. I limited the thread to no modifications, meaning lifts, motor upgrades, etc because my parents absolutely have no interest in bling or performance upgrades. I didn't want a bunch of suggestions like "this cart is the best if you replace the motor, upgrade the brakes, etc etc" due to costs involved.

Now, if we find a nice clean rust-free cart that does not have a working controller (for cheap enough), then it would make perfect sense to replace the nonworking parts with the items you described. But from what I've seen, it always costs more to upgrade those parts in a non-working cart then it would to just buy a stock cart that is already running. Ideally, a stock running honest cart would be ideal for them. They just have no interest in upgrades unless it is financially beneficial to total purchase price of the cart.
