club car or ez go
Looking at purchasing a stock golf cart and in the future putting a 6" lift and tires on it. this will be used to ride around neighborhood and at football games for tailgating and at the hunting club.
I have found the following: 2011 48V club car precedent beige with original batteries.. $2,150 2008 ez-go 36V with 2 year old batteries. 1,900 I love the look of the club car a lot better than ez-go. but my only worry is how long before I have to replace the original batteries? they say they were still playing 18 holes with the cart guess my question is which cart would be better to buy |

IMO I think that the club car is a better deal even if you have to replace the batteries. I would offer the seller the same price as you would pay for the ezgo though as you will most likely have to replace the batteries soon.

Re: club car or ez go
48 volt with 6 - 8 volt batteries every time
5 - 6 years is about all you will get from your batteries so be prepared to replace them soon If you get new batteries you can break them in properly and take proper care of them to get good long service If you call around to small shops, some will lower their price if you pay cash |

I live in Georgia and purchased Trojan T-185 batteries for $106 ea. Cash Only price. Trojans are make here so shipping cost are lower. The farther away you live the cost will be higher. You might have to consider Crown or other brand. Be sure the AH rating is the same Expect the prices to range between $100 - $135 each Good luck on your search |

I know the 48 volt DS used to run with 6 x 8's. While the discussion has turned to batteries, your original question about the Club Car or EZGO: I would always go Club Car. The aluminum frame will never rust, EZGO steel frame will. Where I live that matters. I've seen too many 10 - 15 year old EZGO and Yamaha carts that run great but the chassis is coming apart underneath them. Last edited by meimk; 05-01-2016 at 12:56 PM.. Reason: additional info |
