Yamaha G16 brake torsion spring
I have to replace this. Brake pedal does not return when you push it. Thai spring looks broke. I was wanting to know if anything special needed to be known when replacing or is it self explanatory when doing.

Re: Yamaha G16 brake torsion spring
Pretty straight forward...unless the bolt/collar and bushings in the brake arm are rusted/frozen.

Re: Yamaha G16 brake torsion spring
You will need a 14mm & 17mm wrenches. Hope it's not too rusted.

Re: Yamaha G16 brake torsion spring
I know this sounds crazy....do you have a torch? In a vise, heat the area around the rusted collar/bolt till it's red hot, then pour water over it. Hit it with a punch and hammer and it will slide out fast! You should also replace the 2 bushings, collar and bolt. If you need the part numbers, just ask.
