Default Yamaha G16 brake torsion spring

I have to replace this. Brake pedal does not return when you push it. Thai spring looks broke. I was wanting to know if anything special needed to be known when replacing or is it self explanatory when doing.

Pretty straight forward...unless the bolt/collar and bushings in the brake arm are rusted/frozen.

You will need a 14mm & 17mm wrenches. Hope it's not too rusted.

Just now getting to it. Oh yeh it was rusted. Broke the head of the bolt. And not sure how to get the pedal off now.

What's left? Are both ends broken off? Got a pic?

I know this sounds crazy....do you have a torch? In a vise, heat the area around the rusted collar/bolt till it's red hot, then pour water over it. Hit it with a punch and hammer and it will slide out fast! You should also replace the 2 bushings, collar and bolt. If you need the part numbers, just ask.
