Can you identify this electric motor and rear end?
I have recently purchased an electric golf cart "rear end" and have no idea what year or model this power train cam out of. Please see attached pictures. Can anyone help me identify the make, model, and year of the golf cart that came out of?
I am transplanting this unit into a custom vehicle and need to know more so that I can purchase consumable parts (brakes, etc.) and what electrical parts I may be missing to get this unit operational (besides batteries). Any help is appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: Can you identify this electric motor and rear end?
Welcome to BGW LaforzaLand!
The make is Columbia, otherwise, I don't know much else about it. but BGW member "Tech Support" should! He has close ties to the Columbia Golf Car plant in Reedsburg WI, and is also a fine BGW sponsor that supplies parts for Columbia/ParCar golf cars. https://evtechnicalservices.com/ I'll send him a PM asking for assistance! |

Re: Can you identify this electric motor and rear end?
Looks like it came out of a standard ParCar/Columbia EU made in 2005. Has standard duty motor CVG719135, that controller is the smaller 300A which is no longer available and replaced with a 6 post version that is programmable up to 500A. I see that the axle has hydraulic brake line across the back (the P4 standard was mechanical, but the EU series often had hydraulic).

Re: Can you identify this electric motor and rear end?
Thank you!
I think that I am on my way to better understanding a little more about this unit. I assume that EU is short for electric utilitruck? From your information, I found a service manual on evtechnicalservices website My list of items to acquire begins:
Do you think that it would be more cost effective to purchase an entire (functioning) donor golf cart and sell this unit? My goal is to convert an old 1980's 2-cycle gas-powered scooter car (Piaggio Ape) to an electric drive train. |
